After further testing the "unknown error" seems to be happening less?
but the 512x256 mpeg files plays back poorly at best and the same size quicktime plays good..... I played the DirectMedia sample file on the same computer and the plays fine, that sample mpeg file is 320x240.... Maybe 512x256 is too big or a poor choice for mpeg-1 Tom -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, June 07, 2002 11:46 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: <lingo-l> Mpeg PlayBack But Sorenson definately scales better than mpeg1 - mpeg1 by definition alone means half of ntsc - what is that Colin, 352x240? And the compression is very blocky. You can of course scale up the presentation of that vid, but it looks bad. Sorenson has no lock to rect, and really does scale quite nicely. I could be wrong but I think the way it looks at nearby pixels are different during the encoding process?
