hello,

thanks for your replies.

here's a bit more about what happens:
i did import my mp3 files on win, then went over to the mac via ftp. the
imported cast members were linked. they didnt work at all (not even in
development). so i went through the whole procedure i described to get rid
of the linked files' affiliation with quicktime. that didnt help. so i went
back to the pc and reimported the mp3s as not linked (sorry, dont know the
exact english term for that option; import original data or something?;
linked is then FALSE). now they do get played on the mac while in
development, but as soon as i have a projector they still dont play. weird,
since director has then converted them into its own format... or should have
done anyway. aaargh.

it does indeed. it should say that, since otherwise mac would be trying to
play on a device it doesnt have, right?

i havent gotten round to converting the mp3s into itunes mp3s yet... will
try though.

thanks again,
heike .-)
