Thank you much, that was the problem. Under the publish settings it was
set to jpeg compression. I turned it to standard and the problem went
away. Appreciate the help.

Hi Jeremy

Check your compression settings for the balls, if you are using JPEG
compression, then the most likely case is that some of your "white
fringe" is pixels who's color has been changed as a result of the
compression. Matte ink and background transparent use only pure white
areas to knock out the background.

There are a couple of ways you can work to see if it helps you, use a 32
bit image with alpha.

Use a 1 bit mask image (mask ink) to remove the artifacts.

Use standard compression on the balls vs jpeg.. they will come out
larger but will most likely lose the artifacts that you are seeing.

Just some ideas.

Sincerely

Subject: <lingo-l> Director problem

I'm having a problem that is really making me mad.

In my game at http://www.bsproductions.net/games/

I have the actual balls for the game programmed as objects. They set
their ink mode to 8-matte (tried 36 - BG trans). Everything looks great
and works great in director, however when I publish the game and attempt
to play it via the html file it generates, it shows the white areas
around the edges, which should be matted out as it is when played in
director. Can anyone help with this please.

Jeremy
