Yes, the US Secretary of State (Colin Powell) uses that pronunciation. 
It's a little like the two possible ways to pronounce "Uranus". One is 
used by people who want to avoid nervous childish titters (!) while the 
other is used by people who like to affect a moue of disdain when they 
hear nervous childish titters at their pronunciation.

I know of none, but that doesn't mean much. I generally try to write 
stuff that doesn't do a lot of manipulation of other windows or program 
spaces, because it always seems to create considerably more problems 
than it might ever solve. That's why I don't know much about whether 
there could be problems here. It's just a hunch -- the first thing I'd 
try doing is disabling the code that manipulates other program windows, 
and see if that solves the problem or not.

Even if it does solve the issue, you don't necessarily have to leave 
off on manipulating the other windows. Perhaps it's just a specific 
combination of commands in a specific order that does it.
