I apologize if this topic has been already covered extensively. I have used embedded fonts successfully before, but MacOS X is now in the equation and there seems to be more "imponderables" to deal with.
Of course, Director 8.5.1 is running in Classic Mode. Fonts can be located in an umpteen different locations in OS X. We have PostScript, TrueType, and now OpenType. I embed a font, allowing the default naming convention of simply appending an asterisk to the original name. I use the original font that Director sees on my Mac for the text cast members ...and it looks great. When I move the movie file to another Mac or Windows computer that does not have the font, the font is indicated as "missing" in authoring mode or when running the projector, a default font appears in its place. The font is embedded in the internal cast. It is a TrueType font. ------------------------------------------------- Ronald Woodland -- St. George, Utah 84770 ------------------------------------------------- "I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble." -- Helen Keller [To remove yourself from this list, or to change to digest mode, go to http://www.penworks.com/lingo-l.cgi To post messages to the list, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Problems, email [EMAIL PROTECTED]).
