Internal serves as a default, when all other references fail, and if there wasn't one, things might break, but I didn't write the code, so I can't say that for an actual fact.

Submit if if you wish, though I honestly doubt it'll be high on the list. You're the only one I've ever seen complain about it, and I suspect the "it just bothers me" argument won't be enough to persuade them, butchanever know... good luck!

Well, there shouln't be any physical ties to Internal, specifically, so
there should not be any reason to remove it other than an oversight in the
design of Director. Having done lots of experimentation for openLingo it
seems Director needs a reference to the current cast, but that cast does not
have to be Internal, it can be anything. Therefore, as long as a movie has
at least one cast, it should work fine. AFAIK.
