Well I'm very tempted by all the new server stuff but then I have to get someone to buy them (server apps).
I'm sure all the interface enhancements will be usefull for coders and OSX projectors will, I have no doubt be required by clients so I'll no doubt get it when they tell me they want OSX support 2 weeks after going to press :-) [and yes of course i ask them which platforms they want support for] Flash MX support good but I am still expecting an xtra for dir 8.5. - usefull because I see nothing about improved font support and I'm hoping I can hack something together using Flash MX and possibly Imaging Lingo. Object inspector sounds nice as does the scripting xtra support. I can never remember syntax. What I really need is less marketing on 'new' features I already have in Dir8.5. Instead information on how the 3D member has been improved (eg inclusion of a 3d property/object inspector, maybe its there!), what bugs have been fixed etc. Still its early days yet so I expect more info on this in the future. eg a big bug fix list like computer software companies do. ;-) Very nice to see the product still advancing. Perhaps native Pocket PC support and DVD access/playback for Director next.
