I'm trying to find out how I can associate my filetype with my application upon installation on a Mac. I've looked on the Apple developers' website and found information about bundle resources, catalog files, and desktop databases. But not having any experience in developing software for Mac's, I don't know how to use the information. How can I create an installer for my software that links my application with my filetype (so that when the user double clicks on my filetype, it will open in my application)?? I was wondering if it can be done with Applescript, but not having worked with Applescript before, I'm not finding any information on that route, either. I know I can do it if I download an installation package, like VISE, but that's really expensive. Has anyone done this before? Does anyone know anything that will help me?
