I'm trying to detect for (and install if needed) Indeo 5.1 codec. I realize it is *really* common for PCs to have it already installed (can't find one without it yet), but the client wants to be *extra* safe. AND, if there has to be a codec install, the client wants it to be transparent to the user.
How common is the Indeo 5.1 codec? (is this something they should even be worrying about) I can test for the presence of the codec by checking for the file ir5*.* inside of the system32 folder, but, if I don't find it, can I just copy ir50_32.dll, and ir50_qc.dll into the system32 directory and start playing the video?
