xtraP( instance ) ?

what the subject says is not valid lingo but it would be exactly what I need.
Is there any fast way to decide if a variable with the .ilk #instance 
contains an Xtra reference ?

I could test for  string( instance ) contains "Xtra"  but that seems to 
consume a lot of cpu cycles
