For starters, D8.5.0 projectors may be problematic on XP, as was mentioned by Cole the 8.5.1 update resolved those issues and so if you're not using 8.5.1 then you might want to get the updater first. Next, the Modify>Movie>Xtras dialog is no different in DirMX than it was in Dir8.5 so I think your client may have just been confused?
