Hi! On an earlier project, I had to integrate flash and director. From director, I set the value of a specific variable to a predefined value using the setvariable command.
In flash I had a movieclip that would process the values of the specific variable and take appropriate action accordingly. This may not be the best soln. but it worked for me and my client was happy with the performance. Hope this helps.
