Just out of curiosity, why would it run slower at a faster frame rate?

It wouldn't, in the case of a movie that isn't achieving you initial frame rate. If you have a movie that is easily achieving its intended frame rate, setting the rate to a higher amount will just cause Director to take more of the available time. That might in some cases work against other things such as QuickTime playback (which could use the extra time Director isn't taking).


If you have a movie that is set to say 15 or 30 fps, and is still jerky, you need to solve bigger problems.
