Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any resource on where to
get started on the Director end! I've read a few articles
about XML, and that proves to be already a pain with DMX's
XML parser... I recall an alternative solution but can't find
a reference to it :(

I use Andrew White's xml parser. I works just like Director's except without the memory leak.

Or, if you have MX 2004, I understand the memory lean was fixed. It
might be faster than Andrew White's, too--it should be compiled, where
Andrew's is in Lingo.

Cordially,

Kerry Thompson
Alternatively use a flash object XMLConnector. It's pretty good for XML stuff and is even synchronous which is GREAT :) I'm currently working on some stuff that uses a custom written service to pass XMLConnector information back. The service can potentially connect to any database (MySQL, Valentina, ADO, etc.)
