Jakob, I think it's more about perspective. I've got a tea-mug that's cracked about half-way up. James Newton suggests I use a different mug. You say "The mug can hold some tea, see.".
Maybe that mug can hold exactly the tea you want in exactly the fashion you wannit, ie:
Maybe it will be an integrated part of your design that you expect these distributed prepareMovie handlers to exist in separate castLibs.
And so, why not utilize the feature?
I many ways, what you have discovered 'feels' more like a bug than a feature. Wow...that does hold some water, even though the crack looks like it runs all the way down. But that may just be because I grew up throwing away broken mugs.
Ahh, but I'm a natural for being snotty: ;-) I grew up with the motto "Assumption is the mother of all f*ck-ups". Why do you assume that we're talking of an unintentional feature? Did you ask JT?
Besides: We all know that Director is one big broken mug anyway... ;-)
