Scaling swf member?

MX04 on WinXP.

I’m trying to do a little random animation bit with vector graphics
(swf) content. That is, there are six basic vector graphics members that
get swapped, rotated and scaled randomly in a single sprite. I created
the six members in AI and exported them to single frame (static) swf
files, then imported the six swf files into Director as static Flash
members. I used AI because each vector graphics “image” was more than
could be accomplished in the vector shape editor panel.

No problem with the swapping and rotating, but the scaling results in a
cropped “image” (scaling ranges from 0 to 200 percent). I’ve tried
various combinations of “scaleMode” with alternately “scale” and
“viewScale” set to the desired floating point scale percentage without
success.

Must I keep guessing at the magic formula :) or will one of you clue me in?

Thank you,

Lee C
