Mark,
Thanks for the info on dswmedia.
One thing I have noticed--the Audio Xtra, after asking permission, allows
the user to select a folder to save their recorded audio file in. That can
be anywhere on the hard drive, so there is definitely a way of writing
outside the dswmedia folder. I know it's contrary to Macromedia's published
guidelines, but there it is.
I'm not sure how to delete the file, though. the audio Xtra documents say
the delete (axRemoveSound) command "will not work in Director on the PC
platform to delete a sound in the sound list with an external file as its
source. The workaround in a projector is to use axRemoveSound and then
Macromedia's FileIO Xtra to delete the file."
No word about deleting from Shockwave, though. So, one question still:
- can you delete a file from the dswmedia folder? The documents, and the
tech notes on the mothership, are mum on this.
Cordially,
Kerry Thompson
