Thanks for the replies
I managed to sort it by zipping up the files on the Pc and then unzipping on
Mac. Copying them across the network wasn't a viable option because last
time I tried that it took over an hour (PC Maclan) just to copy 50 MB.
Surely there must be a faster way to copy files from the Pc to the Mac and
vice versa.
Cheers
Paul

There is no way (ok, no way known to me) to burn a cd rom on a pc and NOT
have turncated files :(
The only way is to think ahead and never-ever use long names if there's the
slightest chance that your files might end up on a mac (through a cd rom,
anyway - it's fine if you move files across the network or with a zip).
When a pc-burnt cd is viewed on the mac, it reverts to good old ISO (as
opposed to joliet), but when you view that cd on the pc again, your files
are joliet again.
Black Magic?
The same is not true when you burn a cd on the mac (Toast): if you choose
joliet, or ISO with "allow macintosh names" enabled (or something along
those lines - I haven't worked on a mac in a while), you should be fine for
both platforms.
So, you have two solutions:
Short term: get the files across to a Mac (not using a cd) and get hold of a
cd burner for mac
Long term (recommended): go back to your movies & external files and give
them 8.3 names, then go into your movies and change all the instances of the
long names to the new 8.3 names.
Also, don't even get me started on mac projectors that have seen the windows
operating system - most of the time they go into deep shock and just won't
open on a mac!
PS: Does anyone knows the solution to _that_ problem?
