The median house price in San Jose, California is $500,000.
I pay $7,000 a year for my own (lousy) health insurance.
You can't compare salaries without comparing the cost of living.
I understand that we pay 50 cents a can for soda that you can buy for a few pennies in
India and we pay $8 for a movie ticket that can be bought for 10 cents in China.
That's not even mentioning tax rates, the lack of public transportation necessitating
the you own a car, the lousy public schools, etc.
Sure, we do okay here, but our standard of living is comparable to many other
industrialized nations if not worse.
