Of course it's possible. You don't even need an Xtra if you just want to
run it.
Just use the Powerpoint viewer that you can download free from the MS
website, and do an "Open with."

I'm not sure why we're getting "you can't do that" these days--somebody
posted one last week, and now this one. There is very little multimedia, in
my experience, that you can't do with Director and Lingo. True, 60fps 3-D
games is out of our range now, but it won't be for long.
