Kent Kersten finished a new version of his filextra recently and I think
copying files from cd with resetting the attribute to rw was one of the new
functions (among _many other)

filextra was freeware since I first heard of it but this new version has a
lot of new functions, giving it away for free prooves Kent is rich in spirit.
