I haven't looked into it, but you may have some success with the Winshaper
Xtra available at http://www.ravware.com I suspect it's not supported by
either OS, though.
Still, you can fake it using an ordered, dithered 1bit bitmap mask for the
MIAW's windowType. Every other pixel is transparent giving your window a
"dimmed" appearance with the desktop or stage showing through.
