Sample rate?
Bit rate?
Mono/Stereo?
SoundForge works OK with other, known good sounds?
Same symptom in other sound editing software?
Same on other machines (with different sound cards)?
Latest sound drivers on that machine?
Does export from QTPro help?
In other words, what has been done to narrow down the cause?
