1) Change your movie so that any reference to external files (.dir or .cst) 
doesn't explicitly mention the extension.  For instance, change:   go to 
movie "intro.dir"     to simply be:    go to movie "intro"
Director will look for any file that qualifies.  Note that it used to also 
count subdirectories with the same name, so make sure you don't have any 
conflicts.  I don't know if that problem still exists or not.

2) Use Update from the Xtras folder to create .dcr files - compressed for 
Shockwave.  This is even better protected than regular .dxr files, as 
compression is even harder to "undo".  Plus, they're smaller, so they'll 
transfer better.  You can use them even if you're making a projector.

3) For best results, if you have a lot of files, compress the .DIR files 
before you do any casts.
