Well, maybe I didn´t mention that I have had the problem with non-executables as well. 
Especially MIDI files, which I use a lot in my apps. But we also do some moving of 
files between us in the developer team that sometime involve moving a Mac Xtra or two 
thru the network, passing a few computers on the way. If we just put an Xtra on the NT 
server to move it between two Macs it loses its file associations unless i binHex it. 
We mainly use PCs as developing computers and NT and UNIX servers as storage and file 
servers, and all our projects ar cross platform. I find it easier in the daily work 
just to binHex the stuff that travels across platforms.
