Read up on film loops. With those you can place your many bitmaps
onto the stage, so that over a number of frame it looks like you want
it to look (make sure to set the sprites transparent, if that's what
is needed for the background image to show through). You then copy
those frame from the score window, and do a paste into the cast
window. This new cast member is very much like an animated GIF, you
can place just that one member onto the score, and it will animate
through all the bitmaps that you had placed on the score when making
the film loop.
There are other ways to do it just with lingo, but this may give you
what you want without any scripting.
