The simplest way to get rid of the "Icon" files is to use Sherlock, search the volume (or folder, for that matter) and search for invisible files (in the custom pane). It will then find all the Icon files, and some other files if you want to worry about those. You can then multiple-select them and delete them all at once right from within Sherlock.
