You are saying that the onset of a VO at any point causes a stutter in the
background sound, right?
Is your loop sound small enough to be always held in RAM.
I have heard that if the 2 sounds are at different depths or sampling rates
then Director has to change one on the fly before it can mix them, so you
might want to make them the same. That would save the processor some work.
I haven't used the new D8 sound lingo but I think there are new commands for
preloading prior to playing.
