What points you in directX direction?
What has changed on the users machine? Yesterday it worked but today it
doesn't... something must have changed to break it... what has the user
installed or removed?
When does the error occur? Is it when a QuickTime movie plays or when you
try and print?

No. Not using datagrip at all. Just PrintOMatic and Quicktime. Other
than that, nothing out of the ordinary. I think it's a DirectX error, but
I don't know enough about DirectX to figure out where the error is.
