FOLKS:
Would welcome the opinion from those who, besides working with Director,
also work with 3D animation/modeling software (or work with colleagues
who do).
Our shop currently subcontracts its 3D modeling and animation to two
freelance associates who use 3D Studio Max. Am considering hiring someone
inhouse fulltime and will need to buy the system and software. We are a 4
machine MAC and 1 machine PC shop.
Anyone who works with SoftImage, SGI, 3D Studio Max/Viz, CINEMA 4D or
other 3D software -- what is your recommendation for platform and
software for superior multimedia-quality and broadcast-quality animation.
Most of our work is architectural related. Would like to hear good, bad
and ugly tales regarding performance and cross-platform compatibility
issues.
