Well, I'm waiting for that as well, but Maya kicks arse when it comes to
animation, I'm not familiar how easy it is to model in....
I have to chime in for Cinema 4d 6.1 too; I've tried to get into 3d
modelling for years but coming from a more 'artsy' graphic design
background I found the transition to be painful ....I tried Strata Studio
(2.7 at the time..), Ray Dream, Infini-D, Lightwave even Carrara, and most
were just really painful (probably because macs back then could really deal
with 3d). I even picked up an amd pc for both director testing and to try
3dMax on....no go.
I have to say that C4d is probably the most flexible and intuitive package
I've used in a while, and coupled with Bodypaint (which I'll have to get
when time permits) I'm really impressed with the app....also the other
aspects are attractive such as the net-render and being crossplatform....
I agree about Maya, but I'd be a little worried about staking your only 3d
package as a relatively new port on a new OS....and I'm a pure mac guy
saying that...
