Ummmm....I think I need to reword that.
I'm not a webwhiz...and I think I've goofed on the terms used.
When I use "secure" what I mean is that the directory on the server has
been protected from snooping users with a password. I don't really think
that it is the same as a secure connection.
The browser pops up a dialog box at me when I open that url and asks me for
the username and password.
Alternatively, I can also key in the username and password into the url
itself(http://username:[EMAIL PROTECTED]). And that works too.
But when I use the same method in Director with postNetText, it throws back
an error stating that the url is not reachable. Now why would _that_
happen, is what I need to know.
My script goes like this:
gID = postNetText("http://username:[EMAIL PROTECTED]", ["username":
"pranav", "password": "not2betold"])
put netError(gID)
-- 4146
4146 converts to "Connection could not be established with the remote
host." for all non silicon species.
Hope I'm a little more clearer this time 'round...
Regards,
Pranav
