But perhaps, Mr Kettles, you are somehwat biased given your previous status
as Director Quality Architect. I am always very defensive of Director
myself, but even I cannot cover some of the major issues that D8 has - Text
alignment issues, text colouring issues, sound queueing and streaming
problems (to name a few), and the fact that for no reason the Property
Inspector will suddenly stop working. I support Pekka's statement in saying
that D8 is "bug-ridden". Perhaps "molested" is going a little too far - I
would prefer "handicapped" - but I knowthe feelings expressed.
Other people may have had no problem with the features stated, or other
issues have emerged, but suffice it to say that if even a handful of people
are complaining about text and font problems (for example) then surely D8 is
bugged.
And now seeing that pretty much none of the bugs listed above *seem* to have
been addressed with D8.5 I am beginning to lose a little faith in MACR's
chosen direction - Shockwave 3D feels to be nothing more than a gimmick with
no change to the underlying system - although Flash 5 support IS a godsend.
Just my opinion, but I feel that this thread may have to be stopped soon -
we've got Lingo to write and focus on.
