I'm not Mr. Flash by any means, but you have the option of breaking
the sound track into event sounds, which I think can still be
streamed. That way you should be able to hang around on a particular
slide until the sound is finished.
You could probably make the change to the next slide be quick by
having that library element stashed somewhere, say underneath the
visible slide. Then when its time arrives, it's already known to be
downloaded.
