AW has its limitations, and it does appear that Macromedia has pretty much
abandoned it to a slow death. I wouldn't encourage anybody to start a new
project in AW, but there are a lot of older projects out there that still
need maintenance.
Plus, believe it or not, AW is still used a fair amount in the corporate
training environment.
I agree that Director is a better choice because of its support. It's a
shame, though, that AW has been neglected, because there actually are a lot
of things you can do more easily in AW than in Director.
