use of 'nothing' command

Howdy Listers,

I was having a look through some lingo scripts provided by Macromedia
(relating to multiuser), and I noticed a few handlers included "nothing" as
first line -- ie

  on Something me
     nothing
     ... rest of script
  end

Any ideas on why you would use 'nothing' like this?
