only work with people you trust?
have the files on just your machine, and lock the computer?
or take it home with you?
keep the only copy on a zip, and keep that zip on your person?

or just keep a backup on a zip only you have access to, or in a hidden
folder on your machine. at least if someone changes it, you can restore it.
