Hi,
Does anyone know how to programme/implement an additional
right-click menu item on Windows? For example, like WinZip does, so that you
have easy, quick access to a utility by right-clicking on a file. I guess
it's wrapped up with the installer as it must have to install something at
system level.
I'm trying to progamme a utility which is drag and drop
on the Mac, which is working fine. You drag a selection of files to the app
and it opens them. This is using a very useful Xtra OpenDocument from
http://www.pimz.com
The problem with Windows is that there is a 255
character
limit to the command line that opens an application and so it can only take
a limited number of file names as inputs to the open command. Therefore you
can't drag and drop a lot of files at once (I think this is true anyway). So
I guess that right-clicking
on the selected files and choosing the application's additional menu entry
is the quickest way of opening a load of files directly from the desktop.
There is a cool utility called ACDSee that is an image viewing programme
that works like this.
Does anyone know if any Xtra - maybe one of the system
functionality Xtras like Buddy API - allows you to get around this problem,
maybe by adding right-click menu functionality to your projector?
Cheers. Simon Buckingham.
