QuickTime. You can import and use MIDI tracks into, or as, QuickTime
movies and control them with Lingo like other Quicktime stuff, as well
as combine them with video and/or other types of sounds and sound
tracks, etc. There's a lot of documentation on doing this both on
apple.com/quicktime and in the Director manuals and online tech info.
I've also used Beatnik, but I think you'll find that you can do what you
want, and do it quicker and easier, with QuickTime.
