I agree, slightly depends of what the unit of the mentioned datarate is...
900 kBytes is FAAAAAAR to much
900 kBits is sligtly on the tough side as well.
I've done 800X600 slow-motion stuff with Datarates as low as 300 kBits/s

The word 'hanging' itself is quite inexact, so this might not cure it.
