it sounds to me like you already answered your own question: 8 seems to be
too much.
why don't you try rolling 8 databases into one db with 8 tables so that you
only have one instance of the db and then instantiate tables as needed? this
way at any given time you only have a db and table instance in memory...
i've done extensive work with v12 and i only use a single instance... never
tried multiples and i've never had a single problem.
