Hi people. A somewhat OT question. We are developing a game work name (space trader). One part of the game will be fighting (turnbased). My problem right now is: How smart do you want to make the computer????? Should it always do the most effective move, cut of paths, move for the kill, use the most effective weapon??? This is the first time i create a game with somewhat open ended situations. Anyone has experience of this type of rule making? Good tips on what to think about? Can you use some kind of randomizer to help the computer act stupid? Basicaly there will be three types of actions to use from each turn. move/Attack/surrender.
Any thoughts on the subject is greatly appreciated. Right now i cant really get it down on a paper, less so in code.
