Hello JR,

You can not modify the structure of a V12-DBE database without having the
non-registered splash screen appear. You will indeed need a registration
number to achieve this process. If you are working under a project for the
original contractor, they can supply you with the registration number -
temporarily. INM would have to be notified of this too.

Subject: <lingo-l> new V12 question

I have been given an already finished project to amend. The modification
involves adding new columns to the V12 DB file. I have successfully done
this by using the V12-TOOL to create a new DB, import the fields from the
original DB file and add new ones.

Problem is, the new DB requires me to purchase V12 to remove a V12 splash
screen from being displayed every time the movie is launched. BUT bear in
mind the original contractor must have had a purchased version when they
made the original file. Do I need to purchase a new copy???? Is there a way
to 'modify' the original DB file instead of making a new one (thus hopefully
stopping the splash screen from appearing)??

Many thanks.
