If you're not using any of the new Action Script, chances are it will work ok--the Action Script was the main change between F4 & F5. I don't use F5 with D8--maybe I'm just conservative. I did find something interesting recently, though. I discovered that our builds for the past 3-4 months have been using the Flash Asset Xtra from D8, with an 8.5 projector. For the most part, it works fine--but again, we publish our Flash movies as Flash 4. Interestingly, when we fixed the build problem, none of the Flash bugs went away. >In a sentence, what's the danger? Mostly if you use Action Script that's not supported in Flash 4. If you do have a F5 movie with the new A-S commands, and try to publish it as F4, Flash will warn you about the code that won't work, so it generally isn't that big a deal. >Is it the sort of thing that could lead Director to do things like; >expect a list so that it can execute the command 'end'? I haven't run into that one, though I have had the Flash Asset Xtra corrupt my D 8.5 lists when I do a setVariable. Go figure. >Please excuse me for rambling, nasty head cold. Getting to be that time of year in Boston ^_^ I'm coming out there next week--guess I'd better bring a winter coat.
