It's odd but the "searchCurrentFolder" actually affects how the 
"searchPaths" work.
I like to explain it like this:
When "searchCurrentFolder" is at the default; TRUE, then the 
moviePath should be considered a an implicit first, but hidden entry, 
in the "searchPaths".
When "searchCurrentFolder" is FALSE, then only the explicit entries 
in the "searchPaths" will be used for searches.
If you still want the "moviePath" to be used as a basis for searches, 
you could just append to the "searchPaths" after your alternate 
path(s).

I made a testBed to illustrate this:
