You're right. I ran into this earlier in this project, where behaviours were attaching themselves to the scriptInstanceList of sprites later on in my channel (after the original sprites were long-gone). I had to manually remove them on exitFrame and thought that was a bit funky as well. It didn't even occur to me that this could be the same problem.
