standing over my shoulder, twiddling his fingers and asking "How much
longer?" :-P

I solved the xtra download problem too. If a gotoNetMovie is issued from
movie A, where movie A doesn't have the xtra required in movie B in its
xtra list, the download gets botched up. In my case, I had a generic
preloader movie which used the barest of xtras. When the main movie was
downloaded, the xtras needed for it weren't available nor getting
downloaded.
Quick fix: add all required xtras into the loader movie as well. Holds out
pretty fine.
