Hi Matt,
Even if V12-DBE and VALENTINA are both database engines, they are quite
different. I won't list all the pros and cons of each xtra but I can give
you 2 examples:
- the API: V12 is using an "easy-to-use" API and Valetina is using SQL: some
developpers will find that the "easy-to-use" API is too limited compared to
the power of SQL, others will will say that learning SQL is a too big
overhead for their projects.
- the search: Valentina is faster but V12-DBE is providing full-text
indexing
Your choice depends on:
- what kind of developper you are.
- your project.
I hope that V12-DBE and Valentina users are going to give you more elements
to help you decide.
