Though I also do ASP and SQL, I'm quite happy with V12.
It's pretty flexible and handles large databases well.
Full indexing was necessary for the stuff we did, so the choice was quickly
made.
The syntax is easy to learn and still resembles db programming in general,
so I don't see any problem there.
Never had any platform issues.

The downside is that it uses a proprietary format for the db, but you can
import most stuff with ease.

Some credits to the guys from INM for the well written docs.
(btw, don't use their nasty V12 tool - it sux ;) )
