Indeed. Evgeny Morozov is just one name among many that comes to mind whose done a fairly good job at breaking these issues into mainstream years ago. TED from 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hFk6FDrZBc And both his books: 'The Net Delusion: The Dark Side of Internet Freedom' and 'To Save Everything, Click Here: The Folly of Technological Solutionism' are great. And I'd go even further to say, it's not an "emerging" darkside---the darkside of all this crap was built in from the beginning---i.e surveillance state/panopticon/inverted totalitarianism (Chris Hedges). _______________________________________________ Link mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.anu.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/link
